A little history...

I love these fascinating cars.

I'm 35 years old, married for 5 years, a beautiful wife, a handsome son, a cat, and a German Shepherd.  I own my own business (medical consulting) and I've lived in Orlando, FL my entire life, with the exception of my college days at Georgia Tech.  I have a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Yes, well actually I am a rocket scientist!  (or I was)

I've owned three 914s in the past.  My first car was a 1975 1.8L 914, Zambezi green with a tan interior and a center console.  I sold it when I went to college.  I've always loved the cars and have wanted another one for years and years.  In 1996, I purchased a 1974 1.8L Signal Orange 914 with a center console, tan upholstery and A/C.  I restored that car to it's former glory.  My son was born in 2000 and is severly disabled, so I no longer had any time or money to tinker with the car.  I ended up selling it to a 72-year old SCCA racer from South Florida.  I had also purchased a rolling chassis in 1999 in hopes of converting it to a 914-6, but sold that one around the time I sold my '74 car.

Current I drive a BMW 545i with sports suspension and a new 2005 Lotus Elise with touring pack, sports suspension, and stage II exhaust.

So here I go again.  Finally, I have the time, money, and desire to complete my dream 914.

Time and funds became available last year, and my wife bought me my current project car for my birthday last May (We had it shipped from Phoenix). I dove head on into the conversion until about Thanksgiving time, and then the holidays, my son, and my work kept me very very busy and I didn't make any progress for 4 months. I also took up shotgun sports (skeet, trap, sporting clays) and was distracted for 2 to 3 months during the winter.

My wife and I just finished building a new home.  The cars and parts have plenty of room now.

As of late, I've been very active with working again on the car and I'm moving full speed ahead on the conversion. Right now I'm ready to send it off to the body shop for the flare installation, chassis strengthening kit, minor rust repair, and the repaint.

I know a lot about these little cars, and then there are some things I know nothing about. The internet is great and I can pretty much find any answer, or any part I need... (most of them at least).

You are always welcome to stop by and visit if in Orlando to talk 914s!
